Specialist watch movement servicing undertaken at our Birmingham Watch Repair Center.
We service a wide range of watches from fashion quartz to mid-end Tissot Longines, and up to high-end Rolex, Breitling, Omega and Tag-Heuer. Automatic and manual wind mechanical movements across a broad range of calibres repaired. Below are a few examples of brands and movements we specialise in.

Watch Movement Types
Automatic Chronograph - Valjoux Movement Service
We are equipped to service many movements, particularly those based on the Valjoux chronograph. This movement is used in many manufacturer’s watches as listed below. Complications are sometimes added to the base movement to suit the functions required for the particular brand. Such as a date or various sub dials. The Valjoux 7750 is perhaps the most popular and widely used of the chronograph movements. Especially since the 1980’s it became the most efficient and mass produced type for all the mid to high-end brands as they were free to purchase it and alter in-house. It consists of 3 levels, the main plate, the calendar and then the chronograph part on top.

Modern Rolex and Tudor Service
We undertake servicing of Rolex watches. It may have been slowing down over the years or just require a preventative service. All modern Rolex watches are pressure checked on arrival to assess the case’s physical condition. This is done before any Rolex Servicing work proceeds. Assuming the case does seal, we strip the watch down under controlled conditions. The movement and case are meticulously cleaned, dried and inspected for wear. The movement is then serviced and oiled. Rolex servicing does not include the replacement of any major faulty parts. These would be replaced if possible and at additional cost after advising the customer. Movement time regulation then commences.
The watch is built back up with new case back seals. It is then pressure checked to the appropriate specification.

Quartz and Battery Watch Servicing and Repair
We undertake repairs to watches with Quartz movements. Most modern battery powered watches have a movement that is produced by a limited number of manufacturers. Some of these include ETA, Miyota, Ronda, Sellita, Seiko etc. It may have been slowing down over the years or have completely stopped. We don’t recommend servicing quartz watches unless there is a specific problem. This is because most of the time the movement is completely replaced rather that taken apart and fixed.
We strip the watch down under controlled conditions. The movement is then usually replaced with a new one. Sometimes with much older movements they are not produced any more, so they can only be replaced with similar types.
The watch is built back up with new case back seals. Movement timing checks then commence.
Omega Service – Automatic and Manual-wind mechanical
Servicing of both vintage and modern Omega watches are carried out here at our Birmingham repair center. On older Omega we aim to maintain the vintage patina that the watches have acquired over the years. The horologists are vintage watch collectors themselves and understand what gives these watches their charm. Care needs to be taken as many of the parts are no longer available.
We regularly service newer watches as well whether it be preventative maintenance perhaps every 10 years, or if the watch has a major problem.

Automatic Rolex Servicing - Vintage movements
We specialise in Vintage watch repairs and servicing. In particular Rolex and Tudor movements. Extreme care needs to be taken when working on these watches. On older watches, many parts are either no longer available or not preferable to change. Part of the charm of old watches with patina is that they actually look vintage. Many owners do not want to see new parts fitted to their watch as it will spoil the appearance and possibly the value of their investment. We understand this requirement, and will work with you to understand what you would like.

The watch is built back up with new case back seals. It is then pressure checked to the appropriate specification if at all possible. Many collectors watches are not water proof, and its sometimes impossible to achieve this due to the age of the piece.
