Eterna have designed and produced elegant timeless classical women’s watches for over a Century. Producing the smallest baguette movement for a Woman’s wrist watch in 1930. By the 1950’s, Eterna were to celebrate their 100th Anniversary. To mark this occasion Eterna released an extremely slim ladies watch also incorporating the world’s smallest movement and named “Centenaire” appropriately meaning Century. So feminine and elegant in design, appealing to the socially elite and movie stars such as Brigitte Bardot and Gina Lollobrigida.
With over 150 years of Swiss watch making experience and with women’s watches very much in the forefront of their minds Eterna represents timeless beauty, exquisite elegance and classical style reminiscent of the Art Deco era. This is truly expressed in the design of their Contessa collection. Distinctly rectangular in shape encasing a woman’s wrist quite elegantly. Highly polished and satin finishes create a streamlined effect celebrating women’s femininity. Swiss quartz movements ensure continued accuracy in all Contessa ladies watches. To add the crème de la crème to this collection each Contessa watch has a diamond set into the crown. For a more flamboyant Contessa choose from either a mother of pearl dial with 12 diamond indices or a case endowed with 46 diamonds. For that really special gift the Contessa is available in 18 carat rose gold, endowed with 46 diamonds.
Eterna have been officially manufacturing high quality ladies and gents watches since 1870 when the first watch was built in house. Eterna has many first achievements in its watch making history, producing the first alarm wrist watch in 1908. The smallest baguette movement for a ladies wrist watch.
